Jason Grace

My take on Jason Grace, from the book series, Heroes of Olympus by Rick Riordan.

I must admit that at first I was a little lukewarm about Jason's character introduction in the first book, as well as Leo's and Piper's since I binge-read Percy Jackson and the Olympians before I moved to HoO. It must have been because I was so used to Percy's sass and his way of narrating that I was kinda culture-shocked in seeing Jason's rather by-the-book personality. I sped through the book in hopes of just finishing it lol. (That was how much I was uninterested with the golden boy ) )

But as the series progressed and as I re-read the series, Jason's character grew with me and I could identify with his inner problems of "who he really is" and "how can I make a legacy for myself".

Let's face it, with the emergence of social media and how much there are plenty of people in this world, the word "identity" is really hard to come up with.

I wanted to practice doing some western style of drawing and decided to try a more "cartoon-like" approach. 
The character design was originally made by Viria. I took inspiration from it and  I tried to put my own style into the drawing. I didn't expect that I'll have as much fun drawing in a new style that I have only tried recently. I hope you guys like it.
